La Conga Cuban music/rythmical workshop

Operaens International choir is welcoming you to join La Conga Cuban music/rythmical workshop on the 3rd of October, from 18:00 till 20:00, in St. Mortens House.

Together with Freja Keitum Fisker. Freja has graduated from the Bachelor’s program in Rythmical Music and Movement at Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium in June 2023. She now studies Master’s program with the subject SDP (Singing, Dancing and Playing). Throughout her education she has gained experience with traditional folklore music and dance from Africa and South America. She teaches SDP at workshops and loves to create a great musical and inspirational environment for various groups.

You will have an opportunity to learn about singing/rythm/and dance/movement from South America as well explore how these rythms fit in to a musical setting of a choir, You don’t need to have any previous experience in Latin American dance/singing or rhythm but interest and excited heart, Throughout the workshop we will learn about traditional style of singing and dance/rythm of Cuban music, together learn about some of the rythms and songs through bodypercussion and La Conga beats, we will end the night by singing/dancing together.
